Profile

I am a 2011 MBA graduate from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. The focus of my studies was in strategy, marketing, and management by design.  I am very interested in innovation and entrepreneurial activities, both at startups and also how larger established firms can retain the entrepreneurial spirit and be innovators. I have entered numerous business plan competitions, winning a few prizes here and there.  I was on the leadership team of the Case Entrepreneurs Club, a student created organization spanning many Case academic programs as well as other institutions such as the Cleveland Institute of Art.

I previously I lived life as a scientist. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Texas, Arlington then went on to work as an analytical chemist for several years. My area of expertise is in Gas Chromatography (GC) and Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) method development, validation, and sample analysis. I have worked within the environmental, industrial, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries where I was a Principal Investigator and Study Director for several analytical studies.

Prior to attending graduate school in the Cleveland metro area, I spent a few exciting years in State College, Pennsylvania home to The Pennsylvania State University.  However, I spent most of my life growing up in Arlington, Texas home of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. Go football!  Sweet, sweet, football.

Similar but much more tasty than chemical method development, I enjoy making new recipes. A few years back, I managed to convince Central Pennsylvania that I have the second best salsa, losing only to a professional chef. Recently, I have been collecting gear and accessories to try my hand at home brewing.

I enjoy reading and learning about science, technology and business trends. Additionally, I am also a big fan of yoga and when time permits I enjoy practicing my shakuhachi.
